The Ballerina goes to party

On my way to Clubmed last Friday, I found out that my grandfather was brought to the ICU due to COPD exacerbation so I need to go home early the next morning. My mom did not go to office on Saturday, she was supposed to be on duty and I was about to bring Ces and Jared with me. I was hesistant to party so much because of what happened to my grandpa. Thank you to those who prayed for him. He is in a better condition now. Hopefully, he gets out of the hospital today or tomorrow.=)


Anyway...I did not prepare for this party like I used to. I just realized that people don't really dress up for events like this because it is just a stone's throw away from my apartment. Haha! For some weird reason, I am also not excited to go to the party. Or maybe because somewhere out there, something is already happening to my lolo...Had it not been of Ces who dressed up in my unit, I might have fallen asleep and missed the party, haha!

I just wanted to wear the tiered skirt I bought recently. I already wore the top on a dinner date with Jaynor. Remember Babe? I don't want to wear heels so that I can dance well, haha! And when I wore the super cute flats that my mom got me from her Europe tour, ta-dahh! ballerina look! cute! haha!

on cocktail attire

Gawad Panitikan Pangkalusugan is Mu Sigma Phi Sorority's nationwide children's storybook writing competition on health. The press conference-cum-awarding ceremony was conducted at Filipinas Heritage Library in Makati.


The initial dresscode is smart casual so I already planned wearing the Topshop dress I got during the private sale. However, 2 weeks prior to the event, the dress code was changed to semi-formal! Hmmm...But I still want to stick to the Topshop dress because I'm saving clothes for upcoming events and trips, haha! Good thing, 2 days before the event, I was reading Nina Garcia's The Little Black Book of Style and blimey, she differentiated cocktail attire (or informal or semiformal) from smart casual (or dressy casual or festive casual or business casual). And she said on cocktail attire, "This means a short dress. Have a lot of fun here. Pull out that fabulous short dress, your killer high heels, your funkier jewelry. Big cocktail rings are made for this dress code". Yay! Yay! I was on the right track. I was afraid I'm going to be underdressed, haha!

The event is a success. The venue is great, I think I'm dropping by on Saturday morning, woot. The food is good, we ate a lot. Haha!

Oooohhh girls just wanna have fun!!!

With benign rotations the past weeks, I manage to go out on gimiks every week! Haha! Our highschool barkada just got back from UK. Most of the time, our barkada meets up when she is here which is usually twice a year. So last Friday, we had dinner at Noodle Works in Resorts World. Food is cheap and yummy so we enjoyed dinner. We were supposed to play at the casino but for some weird reason, we headed to Republiq right away to grab some drinks. Thanks to my mom who gave me 27 Styles VIP tickets reusable for 5 of the hippiest bars in the metro (plus you can tag a friend along). So that's like 52 tickets for 5 bars so that's 260 individual tickets, get it? haha!
